I wanted to capture the contrast between the dark, sturdy weight of the tree trunks and the brilliant, fractured light bouncing off the reservoir behind them.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp dir=\"ltr\"\u003ePainting the way light filters through thick summer foliage is always a fun puzzle. If you look closely at the water, you can see the thick, textured brushstrokes I used to mimic that dazzling, midday shimmer.
